Former presidential candidate, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has attacked the NRM National Chairman and 2021 winning presidential candidate, Gen. Yoweri Museveni and accused him of breaking the law using guns for 5 years while in the bush.
Dr. Besigye was attempting to justify the acts of rioters in the episode witnessed last month which saw a number of deaths, injuries and destruction of property in Kampala and environs.
And in a flash, the conflicted Besigye blew the lid on the true nature of the riots which have been touted as “innocent” demonstrations by the opposition and its backers all along claiming that security agencies were responsible for stirring the unrest.
Now the cat is out of the bag, if at all the fading politician is a credible source.
It equally gives a hint on the so called “plan B” which he champions.
About the bush war, Dr. Besigye was part of it and cannot turn around pointing fingers without looking hypocritical and shabby.
The other thing is that riots are aimless criminality as opposed to successful liberation struggles of which NRM National Chairman Museveni has been involved in for 50 years and counting.
Dr. Besigye needs some quiet time to reflect on what he stands for before it is too late.
